Annabelle Gitterman,
Lauren Trexler,
Sophia Korovin and
Harper Eskey secured a trip to Nationals, as the St. Lawrence University riding team placed third overall at the 2026 IHSA Zone II Finals, hosted by RIT at Lehman Farms in Pittsford, N.Y. this past Saturday.
Eskey qualified in both the Open Flat and Cacchione Cup. She will represent Zone 2, Region 2 in the high point rider competition for the fourth year in a row.
Gitterman took home the Zone 2 Champion honors in the Intermediate Flat, while Trexler, Korovin and Eskey were named Zone 2 Reserve Champions in their respective classes.
Earning team results for the Saints,
Lainey Rockacy placed first in both Intermediate Fences and Limit Flat, while
Cate Weis placed first in Limit Fences and Gitterman was second in Open Fences. An unfortunately timed injury of the team's level one rider provided a significant handicap to the riding Saints.
Skidmore claimed the team title with 42 points, while Long Island placed second with 40 and St. Lawrence finished third with 36.
The group of four Saints will continue to train and prepare to head to the IHSA Nationals at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, N.C., May 1-3.
