The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team improved its season record to 10-4 on Saturday afternoon with a decisive victory over Ithaca, sending off their five seniors in the process.
The Saints showcased their depth by winning every completed singles flight in straight sets to secure the conference win.
The Saints established control early in singles play, led by
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen at the No. 1 position, who defeated Alys Pop 6-3, 6-4.
Molly Jespersen added to the lead with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sabrina Cheung at the No. 2 spot, while
Elisa Iuri secured a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Madeleine Sutro at No. 3. The momentum continued through the bottom of the lineup as
Yvette Karera earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 4 flight, and
Maya Stepic closed out the completed singles matches with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 performance at the No. 5 spot.
In doubles action, the Saints split the two completed matches against the Bombers. The top pairing of Aksdal-Jansen and Jespersen earned a 6-1 victory at the No. 1 flight. Ithaca claimed the victory at No. 2.
St. Lawrence returns to action on Sunday against William Smith.
