First-year Tallis Tarbell tallied eight points to lead the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team to a 13-11 win over RIT on Saturday afternoon at North Country Field.

Tarbell scored seven goals and added an assist, while Phoebe Spaeth tallied two goals and an assist. Ava O'Rourke also scored twice, while Jessica LaPlaca and Lily Stanton recorded a goal and an assist each. Jolie Osborne grabbed three ground balls, while Aria Lee and Spaeth each caused three turnovers.

The Saints started out on a three-goal run and outscored RIT 5-1 in the first quarter, including four goals from Tarbell, to lead the Tigers after the first 15 minutes of play.

SLU scored five straight to end the first and start the second, increasing their lead to 8-1, with 10:01 to play. RIT scored three in the latter half of the quarter, but the Saints early lead gave them a 9-4 advantage at the break.

Tarbell scored her sixth of the afternoon to open the third, as both teams scored three goals in the third. St. Lawrence led 12-7 to close out the third.

The Saints fended off a late fourth-quarter rally of four goals from the Tigers to pick up the 13-11 win.

"Tallis makes it look easy," said Brigette Gable '25.

"We had a strong start to our day on both ends of the field," said head coach Tom Ryan. "RIT's offense challenged us in the second half and Zoe had some big saves down the stretch. It was a great day to be at North Country Field."

Zoe Heffernan led the Tigers with three goals and an assist for four points.

Zoe Froimovitz made nine saves for the Scarlet and Brown, while Ellie Ruddy made eight for RIT.

SLU held a 18-17 edge in shots on goal and picked up 21 ground balls to RIT's 14. The Tigers finished with a 19-8 advantage on the draw.

The Saints improved to 6-6 on the season and 3-4 in conference play, while RIT fell to 8-5 and 2-5.
