The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team continued its dominant start to the 2026 season, improving to 4-0 with a commanding 7-0 victory over RIT at the Newell Field House on Saturday.
The Saints set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles pro-sets to secure the lone doubles point. At the top spot,
Molly Jespersen and
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen earned a 6-2 win, while the duos of
Ariane Karera and
Elisa Iuri, and
Yvette Karera and
Eleanor McDermed both cruised to 6-1 victories.
Â
The momentum carried directly into singles play, where St. Lawrence took all six matches in straight sets. Aksdal-Jansen battled through the most competitive match of the day at No. 1 singles, edging out Emily Greb in a third-set tiebreaker, 6-2, 1-6, 10-8.
Following suit,
Molly Jespersen and
Elisa Iuri provided efficient wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, both dropping only two games in their straight-set triumphs.
The back half of the lineup was equally clinical for the Saints.
Yvette Karera (6-1, 6-1),
Eleanor McDermed (6-2, 6-1), and
Maya Stepic (6-1, 6-0) all took decisive victories to finalize the shutout. With the win, St. Lawrence remains perfect on the young season, while RIT moves to 3-3.
The Saints will look to carry this energy forward as they continue their conference schedule against Rensselaer.
