The St. Lawrence University men's golf team opens the fall portion of the 2025-26 season with a midweek trip to Clarkson before hosting their home invitational under second-year head coach
Dave Clausen this week.
The Scarlet and Brown open the season with an 11 a.m. tee time at the Potsdam Town and Country Club for the Clarkson Invitational on Wednesday morning.
The Saints head into 2025-26 with six seniors,
Ben DeBiase,
Owen Donovan,
Jimmy King,
Ryan McNamara,
Alex Reith and
George Sherbrooke.
King, who claimed the Liberty League's Rookie of the Year title as a first year and Player of the Year title as a sophomore, golfed to a 24th-place finish at last year's conference championship with four birdies and a 45-hole score of 193.
The Saints junior class is made up of
Connor Murphy,
Siadhal Sweeney and
Gabe Ward, while returning for their sophomore seasons are
Kevin Dillon,
Colin Kagan,
Bob LeFavour,
JD Redding and
Chris Waldorf.
Newcomers to the mix this season include sophomore
Ben Glass and first-year
Conlin Bradshaw.
Last season, the Saints opened the season with a first-place finish at their home invitational, while Ward claimed second place as the tournament's runner up, shooting a 147.
St. Lawrence also recorded tournament wins at Skidmore and SUNY Canton and finished as the runners up at Clarkson. To close out last season, St. Lawrence finished the conference championship tournament in fifth place with a 768 (302, 155, 311).
Following this week's invitationals, the Saints will head to Middlebury, Vermont for the Duke Nelson Invitational on September 13-14. St. Lawrence will also compete at the SUNY Canton Invitational (Sept. 18), the Williams Fall Invitational (Sept. 20-21), the Bowdoin Invitational (Sept. 27-28), the Hamilton Invitational (Oct. 5-6), and will close out the fall portion of their schedule at the Skidmore Fall Invitational (Oct. 11-12).
After a trip to sunnier weather over spring break, the Saints will return to Saratoga Springs to open the second semester at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational on April 4-5. The Saints will also play in the Farmingdale Invitational (Apr. 18-19) and the Liberty League Championships are scheduled for April 24-26 at the Turning Stone Golf Resort.
