The Saints got a pair of wins from the Karera sisters on the day, but the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Skidmore College on Sunday afternoon in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The Scarlet and Brown fell to 13-2 on the season and 1-2 in Liberty League play, while the Thoroughbreds improved to 5-8 overall and 3-1 in league action.
The day began in singles, and Skidmore secured all three wins for the match's first point.
In singles,
Yvette Karera occupied the fourth spot in the order and beat her opponent, Beilynn Geiss handily 6-2, 6-1.
At the three spot,
Ariane Karera took on Ella Provost and dropped the first set 3-6. The sophomore took a 5-3 lead in the second set and ended up winning the match with her opponent falling due to retirement.
The Saints' Liberty League slate continues next weekend when the team heads to RIT on Saturday, April 5, and Ithaca on April 6.
