Edvin Strandberg brought his match to a tiebreak for the Saints, but the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team ultimately fell 7-0 to Skidmore College on Sunday evening in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The Scarlet and Brown fell to 7-8 on the season and 1-2 in Liberty League play, while the Thoroughbreds improved to 7-6 overall and 2-1 in league action.
The day began in singles, and Skidmore secured all three wins for the match's first point.
In singles, Strandberg was in the number one spot in the order and took on Yuval Goodman. The senior lost the first set 6-2 but came back with a 6-4 win of his own. The tight matchup ended in the tiebreaker set with Goodman coming out on top 10-7. Â
The Saints' Liberty League slate continues next weekend when the team heads to RIT on Saturday, April 5, and Ithaca on April 6.
