The Saints won from the number one, four, and five spots in the lineup and took two default wins as the St. Lawrence University women's squash team defeated Chatham 5-2 on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Amherst.
St. Lawrence saw their record improve to 6-5 with the victory.
At number one,
Angel Otshabeng took on Sofia Pinto Combita and earned a sweep winning 11-7, 11-3, 11-7.
In the number four spot,
Laura Franz took a 1-0 lead over Isabela Campos but saw the match get tied at 1-1. Franz took the next two games 11-8, and 11-7 to take the win.
In the longest match of the day,
Emma Kahle took on TaNiya Nored in the fifth spot of the lineup and went down 2-0 early with 11-4, 11-3 losses. Kahle stormed back winning the next two games 11-6 before winning 12-10 in the final game to secure her win.
St. Lawrence picked up two more default wins to make the final score 5-2.Â
The Scarlet and Brown will play their final match of the regular season tomorrow when they travel to Franklin & Marshall for a noon match.
