The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team returned to action for the first time since September, but the Saints were unable to secure a win as the team fell 7-0 to Saint Michael's on Thursday afternoon in Colchester, Vt.
The Saints fell to 0-1, while the Knights improved to 4-2.
In doubles play,
Broderick Pinto and
Jake David had a strong outing in the number one spot against Tristan du Plessis and Sergio Barraso but ultimately fell 7-5 in a tight match.
The tandems of
John Hill-Edgar/
Willem Naughton, and
Aidan Baracao/
Charles Schepens also competed in the doubles but took losses as the Purple Knights took a 1-0 lead.
Saint Michael's had similar success in singles play taking all six matches to take the 7-0 win on the day.
The Saints will return to Canton and will be back in action on Saturday when the team hosts SUNY Oneonta in the Newell Field House at 10:30 a.m.
