Season Recap: Saints Surge to Runner-Up LL Finish, Blanchard Returns to NCAAs

The St. Lawrence University women's cross country team recorded a second-place finish at the Liberty League Championships during the 2025 season and earned multiple individual postseason honors.

"We had an exciting season of growth and success this fall," said Saints head coach Kate Howard. "We ran with purpose in each race and used each competitive opportunity to discover who we were as individuals and as a team. Our goal is always to be at our best in the championship stretch, and we achieved that goal by running to a second-place team finish at the conference championships."

At that Liberty League Championships where St. Lawrence had gutsy individual performances to vault up the team score to runner-up, the Saints placed four runners among the top 14 finishers to secure the result. Avery Blanchard led St. Lawrence with a sixth-place finish in a time of 22:51.1, earning All-Liberty League First Team honors at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course on the campus of St. Lawrence.

Charlotte Blake and Quinn Sirgany both earned All-Liberty League Second Team recognition after finishing ninth and 10th, respectively. Blake crossed the line in 23:04.1, while Sirgany followed closely in 23:04.8. Madison Beaudoin rounded out the Saints' All-Liberty League honorees with a 14th-place finish in 23:20.2, also earning Second Team honors.

"Hosting the Liberty League Conference Championships and the NCAA Regional Championships here at home on the Hoffmann Course was a huge competitive advantage for our team," Howard continued. "The support we have here at home for training and racing is unmatched, so when our team laces up to race the championships here at home, we take a tremendous amount of pride in representing St. Lawrence and our program."

"We were relatively young this season with only two seniors. Cameran Stone and Adriana Cecchetelli served as great captains and mentors for us this fall. Their leadership helped guide us to a great season and they leave us going in a great direction as we look forward to 2026."

In addition to their conference results, St. Lawrence had individual runners earn All-Region honors during postseason competition. The season concluded with Blanchard heading to the NCAA championships for the second time in as many years, where the sophomore improved on her 2024 national race placement my five positions with a time of 23:30.2.
