The St. Lawrence University women's soccer team got balanced scoring, blanking Bard College 4-0 at the Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer & Lacrosse Complex in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.
The Saints improved to 5-3-3 on the year and 1-1-0 in Liberty League play, while the Raptors fell to 3-6-0 and 0-4-0 in league action.
Senior forward
Lilly Stone opened the scoring just 2:48 into the match, finishing a feed to the far-left post from
Meredith Donahue to give the Saints an early lead. The goal marked Stone's second of the season and set the tone for the offensive performance.
After a flurry of chances in the first half, St. Lawrence broke the game open in the second.
Madison King-Thurber doubled the lead in the 51st minute, converting a pass from
Kaitlyn Barton for her third goal of the season. Just seven minutes later, Donahue added her own name to the scoresheet, notching her third goal of the year to make it 3-0.
The Saints capped the scoring in the 72nd minute when
Zoe Rogan found the back of the net off a well-placed pass from
Brooke Habinowski, sealing the 4-0 victory. Rogan's goal was her fourth of the season, solidifying her spot as the team's leading goal scorer, and she is tied with Donahue with eight points at the top of the stats page.
On the defensive end, goalkeepers
Zoe Davenport and
Reagan Murphy split time in net, each playing a half and combining for the shutout. Davenport made one save in the first half, while Murphy stopped two shots in the second to preserve the clean sheet.
McKenna Reeves and Thayden Hamilton-Howard also split time for the Raptors in goal Reeves stopped five shots in the first half, while Hamilton-Howard stopped seven shots.
The Scarlet and Brown led 27-5 in shot attempts and 16-3 in shots on goal. The Saints also led 4-0 in corner kicks.
St. Lawrence will have a quick turnaround and will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, October 7, when they host Clarkson in a 4 p.m. match.
