The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team competed against 12 nationally ranked cross country programs at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by balanced performances and several personal bests across both the Blue and White 8K races.
In the White race, St. Lawrence placed 12th behind a strong pack effort.
Galen Halasz led the team with a 54th-place finish in 26:26.
Max Finley followed in 62nd with a personal best of 26:34, while
Zebediah Whitlock also set a career best with a time of 26:59. Will Chalfant ran 27:00, and
Brody Mindel closed out the scoring in 27:22.
Aidan Fay recorded a personal best of 27:30, and
Cole Jacobsen finished in 27:43.
The Saints placed 17th in the Blue race, led by
Nick Lyndaker, who finished 70th overall with a time of 25 minutes and 11 seconds.
Patrick Russell crossed the line just behind him in 71st, also in 25:11, marking a personal best.
Griffin Roeder followed in 25:57, while
Henry Hagen ran a career-best 26:07 and
Matt Serrano finished in 26:13 to round out the scoring five.
Cyrus Goetze also ran a personal best of 26:41, and
Riley Cushman finished in 26:56 to complete the lineup.
Enda Stubler and
Eliot O'Mahoney also set personal records, with Stubler's coming in the open race and O'Mahoney's being recorded in the blue race.
St. Lawrence returns to action on familiar grounds on Saturday, November 1, for the Liberty League championships hosted by Clarkson at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course on the campus of St. Lawrence.
