The Saints earned five wins throughout the lineup, and the St. Lawrence University men's squash team won 5-4 over Hamilton on Wednesday in Clinton, N.Y.
St. Lawrence improved to 4-5 with the win, while Hamilton fell to 2-8.
At one, Gregory Malsang took on Joey Applebaum and secured the 11-7, 11-3, 11-7 win to get things started.
At four,
Hassan Madkour raced out to a 2-0 lead over Carlo Caffuzzi with 11-9, 11-9 wins before falling 11-2 in the third game. Madkour secured the win with an 11-9 game win.
At five,
Miguel Posada Villa took on Cooper Jessop and lost the opening game 13-11. The first-year bounced back with 11-3, 11-4, 11-3 wins to take the match.
The Saints got the deciding wins at seven and eight where
Athrva Yadav and
Dean Brooker each took convincing 3-0 wins.
St. Lawrence will be back in action this Saturday when the team host Dickinson at the Robie Squash Center. Before the match the program will celebrate senior day.
