Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Fourteen Saints Find Scoring Column in 30-Point Victory Over Bard

Elizabeth Flynn paced the Saints with 13 points and seven rebounds and 14 of the 15 players who set foot on the court scored for the St. Lawrence women's basketball team in a dominating 64-34 victory over the Bard Raptors on Saturday afternoon in Canton, N.Y.

The win puts the Saints at 8-4 on the season and an even 3-3 in Liberty League play.

The Saints got rolling immediately after the start of the first quarter with a 10-2 lead right out of the gates. Flynn had four points and the Scarlet and Brown got out to a 12-4 lead after the first.
St. Lawrence continued the solid play on both ends of the floor with everyone contributing. Molly Keaveney drilled a three with 10 seconds left in the first half and the Saints commanded a 30-12 lead after the first 20.

A layup by Flynn with eight minutes in the third quarter put the Saints ahead by 21, 35-14. The Raptors were never able to get any consistent offense in the game, and later in the fourth quarter a three pointer by Desiree DuBois gave the Saints a 61-30 advantage and the Scarlet and Brown cruised to a 64-34 victory a few minutes later.

Mason Baker-Schlendering was second on the team with eight points, third with six rebounds, and led the Saints with three assists. DuBois had seven points and seven rebounds and Emily Wendt got on the board with four points which were the first of her collegiate career. The Saints forced 22 Bard turnovers and held the Raptors to just 22 per cent shooting.

The Saints will head on the road for the next two weekends, starting with Union next Friday, January 17.
