John Hill-Edgar and
Edvin Strandberg were able to pick up a doubles win, while
Cole Hamilton and
Ben Moolman won their singles matches, but that was all the Saints would get as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team fell 6-3 at Union on Friday afternoon.
The Saints fell to 7-7 on the year and 3-2 in Liberty League play with the loss, while the Garnet Chargers improved to 4-8 and 2-2 in league play.
In doubles, Hill-Edgar and Strandberg continued their great play in the number three spot defeating Austin Gregory and Daniel Saxe by the score of 8-1.
Despite the win, the Saints were down and would fall further behind in singles.
In the three spot, however, Hamilton dominated his match against Keita Fukushima winning 6-3, 6-2. Then at four, Moolman won the first and third sets of his match against Saxe to claim a 2-1 win.
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto both fought hard in the one and two spots respectively but took the loss.
The team will be back on court tomorrow at 2 p.m. when the team heads to Rochester to take on the Yellowjackets.
