The Saints were able to win the doubles round 2-1, but five wins in singles from the Brewers sent the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team to a 6-3 loss to Vassar on Saturday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

The Saints fell to 6-6 and 2-1 in Liberty League play with the loss, while Vassar improved to 7-4 and 2-1 in league play.

In doubles,
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto held strong in the number one spot taking on Nolan Kubiak and Ethan Mantell taking an 8-6 win. Then at three,
Edvin Strandberg and
John Hill-Edgar earned a tight 8-7 (7-5) win over Pedro Cattaruzzi and Eugene Lee.

In singles play, Strandberg was the lone Saint to earn a win. Playing in the sixth spot against Arnav Agostinho, the junior won his match 6-0, 4-6, 10-7 to secure his second win of the day.

St. Lawrence will return home next Saturday, April 6 to play host to RIT.
