The Saints went 2-1 in Doubles, and 4-2 in Singles play as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team defeated Ithaca 6-3 on Saturday evening in the Newell Field House.
St. Lawrence improved to 3-1 with the win and 2-0 in league play.
In Doubles, the team took two wins at the number one and three spots. At one,
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto combined to defeat Gijs Fidler and Emiliano Pedrero 8-5, while at three,
Edvin Strandberg and
John Hill-Edgar took down Ean Lantzy and Jacob Wachs 8-4.
In Singles play,
Ben Moolman won at three taking a close 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (9-7) win over Siddharth Vaada. Then at four, Strandberg earned his second win of the day defeating Pedrero 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).
In the five spot, Hill-Edgar also doubled up in the win column defeating Carlos Hernandez 6-3, 6-0.
Aidan Baracao played in the sixth spot winning 6-4, 6-2 against Lantzy.
The Scarlet and Brown will head to the road for over a month starting next weekend when the team heads to Amherst, N.Y. for a 6 p.m. match against Daemen.
