Morgan Arakelian scored twice, but the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 13 Trinity 18-6 on Sunday morning in Hartford, Conn.
Jolie Osborne tallied a goal and an assist, while
Liz Evans,
Bella Hillman, and Pheobe Spaeth each scored for the Saints. Osborne and Spaeth both logged their first career points for the Scarlet and Brown in today's game.
Liz Evans also picked up four ground balls and caused one turnover.
Trinity got off to a hot start, outscoring the Saints 11-1 in the first quarter of play. St. Lawrence's lone goal off the stick of Hillman stopped the Bantam's run at 11:17 of the first.
The Bantam's tacked on five more goals and shut out in the Saints 5-0 in the second quarter to build a 16-1 lead by halftime.
St. Lawrence fought back in the second half, outscoring Trinity 5-2 over the third and fourth quarters, but the Saints were unable to overcome the early deficit.
Molly McGuckin, Carloine Lampert, Kelsey Restivo all scored three goals for Trinity, while Casey Ward and Caroline Lally each picked up three ground balls.
Courtney Lynn stopped six shots for the Saints, while Ali Macdougall and Olivia Aguirre shared time in goal for the Bantams, combining for three saves.
Trinity outshot the Saints 28-12 and picked up 17 ground balls to the Saints' 14.
The Saints fell to 0-2 on the season, while Trinity improved to 3-1.
St. Lawrence faces a quick turnaround as they travel to SUNY Brockport for a 4 p.m. game on Tuesday, March 12.
