Maggie Spire and
Caroline Hamilton scored, as the St. Lawrence University field hockey team recorded a 2-0 shutout win over Oswego State on Saturday afternoon in Oswego, N.Y.
With the win, the Scarlet and Brown improved to 2-3 overall, while the Lakers fell to 2-5. Â
Just over 12 minutes into play, Spire put the Saints on the board first for the 1-0 lead. Assists were given to

"We put a tremendous effort out there today and it was good to get some points on the board," said head coach
Fran Grembowicz. "
Kara Dominick had a great defensive game and we're hoping to build on this win and take a lot of energy into the game against Utica on Tuesday."
Today's game proved to be a battle of the midfield, as shots remained low. Both the Lakers and the Saints each recorded three shots total and two shots on goal each. St. Lawrence took 10 corners to Oswego's one.
