Mayson Blondek scored her second goal of the weekend, but the St. Lawrence University field hockey team fell to Kean University 4-1 on Sunday morning of the William Smith Tournament in Geneva, N.Y.
With the loss, the Scarlet and Brown fell to 4-1, while the Cougars remain undefeated at 4-0. Â
Morgan Stump put the Cougars on the board with the first of the game at 36:24, but just over a minute later Blondek added her second goal of the tournament to tie the game up at 37:53.
Kean put on the pressure and added goals from Emma Killeen, Peyton Mann, and Maddison Gonzales over a six-and-a-half-minute span to ultimately seal the 4-1 victory.
Cara Vredenburg made 16 stops in goal for St. Lawrence, while Jenna Flemings finished with three for Kean.
"Cara had an outstanding game," said head coach
Fran Grembowicz. "She made some incredible saves to keep us in the game for the first three quarters and our offensive corner unit continues to put points on the board. We are looking to put a solid 60 minutes together for next Saturday's game against Oswego."
The Cougars held a 21-4 advantage in shots on goal and took 21 penalty corners to the Saints' three.
The Saints will travel to Oswego State to face the Lakers next Saturday, September 16.
