Fortuna Named Women's Soccer Assistant Coach

The St. Lawrence University women's soccer program and head coach Sinead McSharry are excited to announce Marissa Fortuna as the graduate assistant coach for the upcoming season.

"We are very excited to welcome Marissa to the Saints." said head coach Sinead McSharry "In the short time that Marissa has been here, she has made a positive impact on our program. She has been a great resource and role model for the team and we are thrilled to have her on board!"

Fortuna, a graduate of the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, has a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education with a minor in English. Fortuna was a four-year member of the Blue Jays' women's soccer program where she played in the midfield and on the back line.

During her time at the University of Saint Joseph, Marissa held leadership roles in Student Government as a Vice President and was a Community Chair for the school's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). Outside of her time playing soccer, Fortuna also worked in home game management for the University of Saint Joseph athletic department.
