John Donnellan went 2-for-3 in game one with a run, and three RBI which helped tie the contest late, but a solo home run from the opposition led the St. Lawrence University baseball team to a 6-7 loss in game one to Ithaca before falling in game two 10-3 on Monday afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y.

St. Lawrence fell to 5-7 with the two losses and moved to 0-3 in the Liberty League. The Bombers improved to 13-8 and 5-1 in conference action with the sweep.
Game 1: St. Lawrence 6, Ithaca 7
Through the first four innings of game one, the Bombers slowly built a 4-0 lead. In the first, Ithaca brought home a run with an RBI double, but did not extend the lead until the third. In the bottom of the third inning Brawdy, opened the inning with an 0-1 home run followed by a Rothstein single later to make the lead 3-0. Another double and single in the fourth brought the score to 5-0 in favor of Ithaca.

In the top of the fifth, the Scarlet and brown began mounting a comeback getting three of the runs back. St. Lawrence started the inning with outs, but that didn't stop the Saints' offense from rolling.
Jackson Brinker made the base paths with a single, then advanced on a botched pickoff. First-year
John Donnellan would deliver Brinker home with an RBI triple to get the Saints on the board.

Tynan Creagh delivered a double to right field scoring Donnellan. Creagh and Colangelo would both advance with
Michael Goretti up to bat as the latter scored on a passed ball to make it a 5-3 game.

Another solo home run put Ithaca up three, but the Saints would again score three runs of their own to tie the game in the top of the sixth.

With one out away,
Jimmy Liberatore made it on base after being hit by a pitch. A
Timothy Connor single and a strikeout brought Brinker to the dish where he would earn an Rbi with a double down the left field line. Next, Donnellan delivered yet again with a two-RBI single to left field scoring Brinker and Connor and chasing Kyle Lambert out of the game.

The Bombers would hit yet another solo shot in the bottom of the sixth, which proved to be the run needed to give the team the win.

Senior
Jack Sylvia went five innings in the seven-inning game giving up nine hits and six runs while striking out six batters.
Brenden O'Neil pitched the final inning for the Saints giving up two hits.
Game 2: St. Lawrence 3, Ithaca 10
Ithaca's offense stayed hot in game two as a leadoff single, and a walk led to a double, sacrifice, and a single that each delivered a run to put the Bombers up 3-0.
The Bombers extended the score to 4-0 in the fourth inning when a bases loaded sacrifice fly brought a run in.
Christian Mingione would come in and get the Saints out of the jam to minimize the damage.
With two outs away in the fifth, Ithaca delivered two more runs home with an RBI single and a double to increase the lead to 6-0. In the sixth they would add for more to get to ten runs.
The Saints would finalize initiate some offense in the top of the ninth as a
John Gannon walk turned into three runs. Following the walk, Connor singled his way aboard for
Huck Haun, who doubled home Gannon.
Brett Federico would then single home Connor with Haun advancing to third.
Eoin Morrissey would hit a blooper to left field to score Haun to make the game 10-3.
Brett Parker started on the hill in game two pitching 3.1 innings giving up eight hits, four tuns, and struck out two. Mingione pitched 1.1 innings and was followed by
Sam Fosberg, who struck out two batters in two-thirds innings of work.
Michael Watson, and
Joshua Polumbo would finish out the game for St. Lawrence.
The Scarlet and Brown will be back in action this weekend when the team hosts Hobart College for a three-game set at Tom Fay Field starting Saturday. Â
