The Saints went undefeated in doubles and lost just once singles match as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team dominated their way to an 8-1 win over Ithaca on Saturday afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y.
St. Lawrence improved to 7-7 on the season and 3-4 in the Liberty League, while Ithaca fell to 6-9 overall and 1-6 in league play.
At number one in doubles,
Nathan Turtledove and
Ben Moolman took on Siddarth Vaada and Jimin Woo and came away victorious 8-3. At two and three, the tandems of
Adam Heilbronner/
Broderick Pinto, and
Edvin Strandberg/
John Hill-Edgar each secured 8-7 wins to go up 3-0.
At number two, Heilbronner took on Vaada and earned his second win 6-1, 7-6. Strandberg also doubled up on wins with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jacob Wachs. Pinto took on Woo at number four and handily won 6-0, 6-3.
Cole Hamilton occupied the fifth spot in the lineup and took on Eric Dubilirer. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Hamilton won the next two 6-3, 10-4 to secure the win. At number six, Hill-Edgar won 6-4, 6-4 over Tyler Del Zoppo.
St. Lawrence will close out their regular season schedule tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. as they take on Hobart College in Geneva.
