Jacqui Cloutier and
Neve Ley each tallied five goals and the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team outscored Clarkson 8-1 in the fourth quarter to come-from-behind and overpower the Clarkson Golden Knights 15-12 on Wednesday afternoon at North Country Field.
Ley also added an assist and three draw control wins, while Cloutier picked up four ground balls, caused two turnovers and won four draws.
Rachel Burke scored two goals and
Dana Fernandez,
Charlotte Powell and
Morgan Arakelian each added one.
Kate Wilson,
Haley Sundstrom and Saints' goaltender all caused two turnovers each.
The Golden Knights struck first on a goal from Sydney Nakas, but the Saints responded well, scoring the next two. Ley capped the scoring in the first quarter giving the Scarlet and Brown a 4-3 lead.
Clarkson regained control scoring four straight to start the second quarter to build a 7-4 lead over the Saints. The Golden Knights outscored the Saints 5-2 in the second for an 8-6 lead at halftime.
Cloutier tallied her 22nd of the season to open the third quarter, but the Golden Knights went on a three-goal run to increase their lead to 11-7 with 15 minutes left to play.
It was all Saints after that, as St. Lawrence went on an eight-goal run to overcome the deficit, come-from-behind and build a 15-11 lead over the Golden Knights. Â
Clarkson scored the last, but the run powered the Saints to their fourth straight win.
"The team battled back against our Route 11 rivals," said head coach
Chelsea Martin. "We had some players really start to click and the team came together in the fourth quarter for the win."

Hailey Millington led Clarkson with three goals, while Julia Lavarnway, Mia Petrone and Madelynn Barnum each scored two goals and assisted on another.
Bovenzi finished with six saves, while Jennaca McGill made eight for the Golden Knights.
St. Lawrence outshot Clarkson 31-21 including 23-18 in shots on goal, while the Golden Knights held a 16-15 edge in draws.
With the win, the Saints improved to 7-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while Clarkson fell to 7-8 and 2-6.
The Saints will hit the road this weekend and travel to Vassar to take on the Brewers on Saturday, April 22 at 12 p.m.
