In honor of NCAA Division III week, which runs April 10-16, 2023, St. Lawrence University has announced the induction of 80 student-athletes into its chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization that recognizes college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. Student-athletes who participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, earn a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average, contribute to their team athletically and act as good citizens are eligible for to be nominated by their coaches for Chi Alpha Sigma membership.
The St. Lawrence chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma was established in 2014. These 80 students-athletes join 433 members fromÂ
previous induction classes.
Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.
