Before the game, the St. Lawrence University women's soccer team honored the five members of the Class of 2024 in captains
Keely Snode and
Grace Bridge along with
Emma Reynolds,
Britney Burns, and
Hope Donoghue.
The Saints would fall 6-0 to No. 4 William Smith on Saturday afternoon at Sandy MacAllaster Field.
The Saints moved to 7-6-4 on the year and 3-4-2 in Liberty League play.
St. Lawrence would come out of the gate with a pair of good chances from
Emma Casey, whose shot sailed wide of the net, and
Grace Mochnal, who found the woodwork but was stopped by Kirsten Nelson.
Following a Heron goal
Natalie Schock would also have a good look on goal that was stopped by the keeper.
Down 2-0 in the first half,
Zoe Rogan nearly found the back of the net with a strike to the lower right corner of the net then
Mia Cence's header sailed wide as the game went to the half.
The Scarlet and Brown kept pushing in the second half with shots from
Sydney Keenan and Cence, but both were yet again stopped by Nelson in goal.
The Herons would score three goals in the second half before the game went to the final.
Snode stopped six shots in goal, while
Darcie McDonough would make two saves in 14:17 of action.
St. Lawrence will learn their playoff fate at the end of the day after all of the Liberty League results come in.
