Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls 1-0 at Vassar

A second half tally for the Brewers was the difference as the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Vassar on Friday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

St. Lawrence fell to 5-4-2 overall and 3-2-0 in the Liberty League, while the Brewers improved to 6-3-4 and 2-1-2 in league play.

Between the Brewers and Saints, a total of one shot found the frame in the opening 45 minutes of play as a Koray Tekin shot was stopped by Ben Woelfinger in the 43rd minute before the game went to half.

Vassar came out pressing in the second half getting another shot onto Woelfinger, which he stopped, and rang a shot off the woodwork.

The Brewers would eventually break the tie in the 64th minute. Kinlay Watkins would take a Duncan Keker pass and find the back of the net to go up 1-0.

St. Lawrence would get two shots from Henry Brown and one from fellow first-year Baker Diaz, but could not find the back of the net.

The Scarlet and Brown will look to bounce back tomorrow when the team travels to Bard to take on the Raptors in a 2:00 p.m. match.
