The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team completed the regular season sweep over Vassar with a 57-49 win in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Friday evening. The Saints improved to 10-6 and 6-4 in the conference.
Trent Adamson went 7-12 on his way to 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Aidan Macaulay had 10 points from a pair of threes.
Trey Syroka and
Gavin Macaulay each came up with three steals.
The Saints' long two-three zone held the Brewers to just three points for over 10 minutes and led 29-15 at halftime. They extended the lead to 17 early in the second half, but a 21-7 run from Vassar trimmed the lead to just four with seven and a half to play. Syroka hit a jumper with four minutes to play to cap off an six-point run and stretch the lead back to double digits, and over the final 46-seconds Syroka and
Will Engelhardt went 5-6 from the free throw line to secure the win.

The Saints shot 44.9-percent from the floor, and held the Brewers to 35-percent, including under 21-percent in the first half. Vassar came up with five more rebounds, but also turned the ball over five more times. St. Lawrence had 15 points off turnovers and seven second-chance points, while the Brewers had nine and four, respectively.
The Saints' 6-4 record in the league is a half-game back from a four-way tie for second in the standings, while Ithaca sits atop at 7-3.
The Saints finish their six straight road games on January 28
th at 4 p.m. when they face Bard in Annandale-on-Hudson, before they have a five-game home-stand.
