Sam Pijpers each scored twice, and nine different Saints tallied points as the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team routed SUNY Canton 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Sandy MacAllaster Field.
The Scarlet and Brown improved to 2-0-1, while the Roos fell to 0-3-0.
Today's offensive display tied the program record for most goals scored in a game. The record is now shared with the 1969, Bob Goodwin led St. Lawrence team, who scored nine goals in a 9-2 win over St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vt. St. Lawrence also set the record for the widest margin of victory in program history at nine.

Mike Toshack "All our field players had the opportunity to contribute, including many making their college soccer debut. We now turn our attention to Oneonta and Hartwick this weekend in the Mayor's Cup tournament."
The 0-0 game didn't last too long as the Saints got their first tally on the board at 14:47 of the first half.
Miles Levy started the play with a forced turnover and dished the ball to Sibanda, who sent a through ball to a wide-open
Max Mogul and ended up in the back of the net to put St. Lawrence up 1-0.
Sibanda proceeded to have a foot in the next three goals scored as he scored two goals off feeds from Pijpers and Levy, and had another assist on a Levy goal to give the senior two goals, two assists, and six points on the day.
After assisting on the second goal of the game, Pijpers scored two of his own over a two minute and 35 second span to lengthen the lead to 6-0 at the half. The junior scored his first goal and tallied the first assist of his Saints career in the offensive outburst as he finished the day with two goals and an assist.
Ten minutes into the second half, the Scarlet and Brown got back on the board when a failed clear from the SUNY Canton defense fell onto the right foot of
Antonio Rogliano, who wired a shot past the keeper to extend the lead.
More career first were on deck later in the half as
Bo Nordberg and
Adrian Bryan connected for their first career assist and goal respectively. Nordberg was carrying the ball into the Roos' box and fired a pass across the goal mouth to Bryan, who tapped home the goal giving the two their first career points in Scarlet and Brown.
In the waning minutes,
Ben Lee caused a turnover and lobbed a shot over the goalkeeper and in as he scored his first career goal as well making the score 9-0 and tying the program record.
Ben Woelfinger stopped five shots in net earning his second clean sheet of the young season.
Jason Meneses stopped four shots in the first 45 minutes of action for SUNY Canton, while Ronald Zavala saved six in the second half.
St. Lawrence outshot the Roos 32-11 overall and 19-5 in shots on goal. The Saints also had the 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Scarlet and Brown will head back on the road this weekend to take part in the Mayor's Cup tournament in Oneonta, N.Y. The Saints will line up against SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, September 10th at 4:00 p.m. Then on Sunday, St. Lawrence will take on Hartwick College in a 4:00 p.m. start.
