Men's Hockey Announces 2022-23 Schedule; Opens Season At UMass Lowell

The St. Lawrence University men's hockey team will play 12 non-conference games — including a trip to New England to face the University of Massachusetts Lowell (Hockey East) — to open their 2022-23 season.

"We have another exciting and challenging non-conference slate of games scheduled for the 2022-23 season." said Charles W. Appleton II head coach Brent Brekke. "We will have 12 quality games and an exhibition contest to go along with our always challenging ECAC schedule. We couldn't be more excited to get our season started!"

Following their opening game, the Skating Saints will head home to face off against Merrimack (Hockey East), and the University of New Hampshire (Hockey East) on October 7-8, followed by Colorado College (NCHC) on October 14-15. The Scarlet and Brown will then travel to Houghton, Michigan for a matchup against Michigan Tech (CCHA) on October 28-29.

On the weekend of November 4-5, St. Lawrence University, and the St. Lawrence Hockey Alumni Association will be inducting former Charles W. Appleton II Head Men's Hockey Coach Joe Marsh into the Legends of Appleton. He will be formally recognized for his tremendous contributions to both the men's and women's programs – in addition to his leadership within and loyalty to the Laurentian and North Country community.

St. Lawrence will open ECAC play with four games against RPI, Union, Cornell, and Colgate before dipping their toes in the non-conference pool once again with games at Niagara (Atlantic Hockey) on November 19 and at Providence (Hockey East) on November 25.

After Christmas, the Scarlet and Brown will be traveling to Omaha, Nebraska on December 30-31 to take on Nebraska Omaha (NCHC) in a two-game set.

The Saints then head home where they will wrap up their non-conference schedule on January 7 with another matchup against the Purple Eagles of Niagara to complete the home-and-home series. The following afternoon, St. Lawrence will host an exhibition contest against the US National University Team, who will be competing in the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games later that month.

In addition to the non-league schedule and an always important addition to the schedule, the Saints will also face Route 11 rival Clarkson in ECAC play at Appleton Arena on Friday, January 27 and on the road in Potsdam on Saturday, January 28.

The rest of January and all of February will feature the Saints' stretch run of games against ECAC opponents as they gear up towards the 2023 ECAC playoffs.

Ticket information for the men's games will be announced at a later date.
