Emily Harris all earned wins, but the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team ultimately fell 7-2 to Ithaca on Saturday morning at the Sammis Tennis Courts.
The Scarlet and Brown fell to 8-7 on the year and 4-4 in Liberty League play with the loss, while the Bombers improved to 12-6 and 5-3 in league play.
Before today's match, the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team celebrated their lone member of the Class of 2022 in
Ibadat Javed.
In doubles, the Saints were only able to get one win, which came in the number one spot. Avery and Harries teamed up for the Scarlet and Brown to take on Taylor Crain and Rebecca Andrews. The Saints' duo came out on top 8-1 in the matchup.
In the singles round, St. Lawrence again was only able to get one win on the board as Styliades earned a win. In the number four spot, Styliades took on Ekaterina Kelly and easily won the match 6-0, 6-1.
With the result, the Scarlet and Brown claimed the fifth seed in the Liberty League Tennis Championship. The Saints and Bombers will rematch one another next Friday at 2:15 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University. The winner of that match will advance to take on top-seeded Vassar on Saturday.
