The Saints cruised to a 9-0 score and senior
Cameron Pankau went 2-0 as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team defeated SUNY Oswego 9-0 in Oswego, N.Y. on Monday evening.
The Scarlet and Brown improved to 8-8, while the Lakers dropped to 2-4.
The Saints won the doubles round with a collective 24-1 advantage. At number one,
Nathan Turtledove and
Ben Moolman took on Anthony Salerno and Ethan Bannochie and earned the 8-1 win. The duos of
Cole Hamilton and
Guy Holbrook along with
Edvin Strandberg and
Cameron Pankau each earned 8-0 sweeps in the number two and three spots respectively.
In singles,
Nico Haet and
Broderick Pinto each earned 6-0, 6-1 wins at number one and three, while
Adam Heilbronner took his match at number two 6-1, 6-0.
John Hill-Edgar,
Kenden Aguilera, and Pankau finished off the match in the number four through six spots with 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
The Scarlet and Brown will head home and begin preparing for their final match of the regular season. On Saturday, the Saints will welcome Ithaca into town for a Liberty League showdown at 1:00 p.m. Before the match the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team will honor the Class of 2022. Â
