The Saints swept both the doubles and singles matches en route to the St. Lawrence men's tennis teams' 9-0 win over Bard on Saturday morning in Annandale, N.Y.
The Scarlet and Brown improved to 6-5 and 2-2 in the Liberty League, while Bard fell to 1-6 and 0-4 in conference play.
At number one the duos of
Adam Heilbronner/
Broderick Pinto, and
James Wolpe/
Edvin Strandberg each earned 8-0 wins in the number one and three spots respectively. At number two,
Nico Haet and
Kenden Aguilera won their match 8-1.
Nathan Turtledove (6-2, 6-0),
Ben Moolman (6-0, 6-2), and
John Hill-Edgar (6-1, 6-0) each swept their singles matches in the top-three of the lineup. St. Lawrence found similar success in the bottom-third of the lineup as
Cole Hamilton (6-0, 6-0),
Guy Holbrook (6-1, 6-0), and
Cameron Pankau (6-1, 6-0) also earned sweeps.
The Scarlet and Brown will head home and start preparing for a two-match weekend next weekend. On Saturday, April 9th, the Saints will take on Hobart at 3:00 p.m. Then on Sunday, St. Lawrence will line up against the University of Rochester at noon.
