Nathan Turtledove and
John Hill-Edgar each went 2-0 on the day, but it was not enough as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team fell 5-4 to the University of Rochester on Sunday afternoon at the Newell Field House.
St. Lawrence fell to 6-7 on the season with the loss, while Rochester improved to 7-6.
In the number one doubles, Turtledove and
Ben Moolman teamed up to take on Runjia Fang and Kenneth Lee. The Saints duo cruised along to the 8-4 win to start their day.
Nico Haet and Hill-Edgar played in the number three spot taking on Kai Yuminaga and Adrian Zhang and took home the 8-5 win.
In the singles portion of the match, Turtledove doubled down with his second win of the day taking down Runjia Fang once again 6-1, 6-3 in the number one spot. Hill-Edgar, who played in the number five spot against Adrian Zhang, won his first set 6-3. After dropping a 6-3 set to Zhang, he came back to win the deciding set 6-3 to take the match.
The Scarlet and Brown will be back in action this coming Friday, April 15
th In Canton, N.Y. to take on Union College at 4:00 p.m. The following day, the Saints will welcome Vassar to town for a match at 10:30 a.m.
