In a battle for second place in the Liberty League standings, the No. 18 St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team defeated RPI 17-3 on Saturday afternoon at North Country Field.

With the win, the Saints improved to 12-1 on the season and 6-1 in conference play, while RPI fell to 9-3 and 5-2, respectively.

Isabel Silvia scored four goals and picked up three ground balls, while
Bella Hillman and
Jaime Allan both tallied three goals for the Scarlet and Brown.
Callie O'Neil finished with two goals and two assists, while
Neve Ley also scored twice and won five draw controls.
Charlotte Powell,
Lillian York and Malia McDonald also scored in today's win.

The Saints kicked off the game with a 3-0 run, with back-to-back goals from Silvia, and with goals from Hillman, O'Neil and Allan, the Scarlet and Brown built a 5-1 lead after the first 15 minutes of play.

The Engineers' struck first in the second, but the Saints tallied five unanswered goals to build a 10-2 lead by halftime.

St. Lawrence outscored RPI 4-1 in the third and 3-0 in the fourth to seal the win.

"Today the team did a great job putting together a complete game through all four quarters," said head coach
Chelsea Martin. "Defensively we played well and there were many commendable moments all throughout the field today."

Ali McLaughlin scored twice for the Engineers, while Lauren DeLeo scored once.

Raelynn Bovenzi made seven saves in the winning effort, while
Courtney Lynn made three. Olivia Kimball finished with five saves and was relieved by Julianna Lucas, who made three.

St. Lawrence outshot the Engineeers 31-18, including 25-13 in shots on goal. The Saints converted on 17-of-21 clears, while both teams recorded 12 ground balls and the Saints won 13 draws to the Engineers' nine.

The Saints will travel down Route 11 to face Clarkson on Wednesday, April 20 at 4 p.m. in Potsdam.
