Hill-Edgar Goes 2-0, Saints Fall 7-2 To Vassar

First-year John Hill-Edgar went 2-0 on the day, but it was not enough as the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Vassar College on Saturday morning in the Newell Field House.

The Scarlet and Brown fell to 7-8 overall with the loss and 3-4 in the Liberty League. The Brewers improved to 8-6 with the win and 4-2 in league play.

Hill-Edgar earned his first win of the day in the doubles round as he teamed up with senior Nico Haet at number three. The two took on Arun Guruswamy and James Balon from the Brewers and the duo came away with an 8-4 win.

Hill-Edgar earned the lone other win for the Saints in the singles round. The first-year lined up against Nihal Kothari in the number six and swept the opening set 6-0. Hill-Edgar closed the match with a 6-2 set win to take his second win of the day.

The Scarlet and Brown will have some time off before their next match on Monday, April 25th when the Saints will travel to SUNY Oswego for a non-conference showdown starting at 4:00 p.m.
