Saints Men's Tennis Tops St. Scholastica 8-1 at UTSA National Campus

The Saints won all six Singles matches to take an early 6-0 lead as the the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team won 8-1 over The College of St. Scholastica on Monday afternoon at the UTSA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

St. Lawrence improved to 4-2 with the win, while the Saints of St. Scholastica fell to 2-3.

The Saints went on to win all six Singles matches to take a 6-0 lead and the match.

At number one, Nathan Turtledove won 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 10-5 over Elliot Schneider. Ben Moolman won his number two matchup 6-1, 6-1 over Jonas Abeleda, while Edvin Strandberg found similar success at number three winning 6-0, 6-3 against Carter Anderson.

At number four, Cole Hamilton beat Giacomo Lucchesi 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. Then, at number five, Aguilera gained a win with a 7-5, 6-0 victory against Riley Versich. In the sixth spot, Cameron Pankau won the Saints their eighth match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory versus Jacob Seitz.

The Scarlet and Brown finished off the match in Doubles winning the number one and two matches. At number one, Broderick Pinto and Adam Heilbronner teamed up to defeat Nicolas Greis Coria and Giacomo Lucchesi 8-2. At number two, the duo of Nico Haet and John Hill-Edgar earned an 8-3 victory over Jonas Abelada and Alex Daigneault.

The Scarlet and Brown will look to keep things rolling into tomorrow's match against Franklin and Marshall College. The two teams will serve it up at the Fort Gatlin Tennis Center at 8:00 a.m.
