The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team dropped their second game in their first Liberty League weekend on Saturday afternoon in Burkman Gymnasium. The Thoroughbreds of Skidmore took the win 89-82.
The Saints led by as many as eight in the first half, but Skidmore finished on an 18-5 run to go into the break leading 40-35. With seven minutes left in the game, Skidmore extended their lead to 15, but a 9-2 run from St. Lawrence made it a nine-point game, which is where lead hovered for the next six minutes.
With a minute to go, the Saints continued to chip away at the lead, and with 40 seconds to go
Aidan Macaulay hit a three to cut it to 85-82. Skidmore hit their next four free throws, and held onto the win 89-82.

In a game that saw a lot of whistles, the Thoroughbreds went 19-26 from the line. Tautvydas Kupstas, who led all scorers with 31, hit all nine of his free throw attempts.
The Saints were sent to the stripe 30 times and sunk 21 of them.

Aidan Macaulay led the Saints with 17 points each, with Aidan hitting four triples.
Trent Adamson finished with 15 points, and eight rebounds.
Trey Syroka had five assists to go with his 13 points.
"We ran into a hot shooting team tonight," said head coach
Chris Downs. "Skidmore made a lot of great plays, and we were out of rhythm on the offensive end. We will watch the tape and get back to work. We will get ready for Clarkson Wednesday night."
Skidmore shot 54.6-percent from the floor, and 44.4-percent from deep. The Saints connected on 40.6-percent of their shots, and 42.9-percent from beyond the arc.
