Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Reynolds, And Donahue Each Score Twice In 4-0 Win Over Bard

Junior Emma Reynolds scored the first two goals of the game, then first-year Meredith Donahue blew the game up with two goals late as the St. Lawrence University women's soccer team defeated Bard 4-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Saints improved to 6-3-2 overall on the year and 2-2-1 in Liberty League action, while the Raptors fell to 3-9-1 overall and are 0-6-0 in conference action.

St. Lawrence came out firing in the opening half of play to the tune of a 14-2 edge in shots and held the 5-1 edge in shots on goal. Defenders Mia Cence and Jenna Durkin both got in on the action getting three shots on the Bard frame between the two of them. At the end of the first half, Cence had a free-kick opportunity that was tipped just high of the goal by Raptors' goalkeeper Sam Finn.

The Scarlet and Brown wasted little time in the second half getting on the scoreboard as Reynolds made it a 1-0 game moments in. Following a Bard foul, Grace Bridge launched a free-kick from the left side of the Raptor goal and found Reynolds, who knocked the ball past Finn to claim the lead.

Reynolds struck once again with under five minutes on the clock as a cross into the box from Kaitlyn Barton was settled by the junior and punched in to double the lead to 2-0.

In the final minutes, the Scarlet and Brown blew the game open further with two more goals, this time from Donahue. The first-year scored the first of her two goals off a feed from Emma Casey at 88:11, then in the final minute scored again to push the final to 4-0 in favor of the Saints.

Keely Snode started in goal for St. Lawrence stopping one shot in 45 minutes of action. Darcie McDonough also stopped a shot in the second half and earned the win in the combined clean sheet.

The Scarlet and Brown held a significant 29-4 advantage in shot attempts and outshot the Raptors 15-2 in shots on frame. The Saints also had a staggering 16 corner kicks to Bard's zero.

St. Lawrence will travel to Poughkeepsie tomorrow for their second game of the weekend as they take on Vassar College at 2:00 p.m.
