The St. Lawrence University track and field programs are excited to announce
Sam Brunnette has been named assistant coach for the 2022-23 seasons.
Brunnette, a 2019 graduate of Plymouth State in New Hampshire, was a four-time All-American. He earned the honor once in cross country, and three times in track and field; once in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and twice in the 3,000 meters.
After graduating Brunnette worked as an assistant coach at SUNY Cortland. With the Red Dragons he coached two All-Americans, one in cross country and one in the indoor 800 meters. Additionally, athletes he coached earned All-SUNYAC 32 times and All-Region 11 times.
"We are thrilled to welcome assistant coach
Sam Brunnette to our coaching staff and our track and field family," said head men's coach
John Newman. "Sam comes to us having ample opportunities competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics while at Plymouth State. This, along with his most recent collegiate coaching involvement, will highly benefit our St. Lawrence University student-athletes. We've had the opportunity to watch Sam develop his coaching skills from afar over the last several seasons. His professionalism, knowledge, and character stood out during the interview process, and we are glad that he has brought his skills and experience to St. Lawrence. We are confident that he will have a very positive impact on both our program and the St. Lawrence community."
