Emil Zetterquist have been nominated for the 2022 Hobey Baker Award, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Award criteria include candidates exhibiting the exceptional character traits of the award's namesake, Hobey Baker. A legendary American hero, Baker was a World War I fighter pilot and was known as America's greatest amateur athlete in his day, excelling at hockey and football at Princeton University.
Award candidates must demonstrate strength of character both on and off the ice, contribute to the integrity of his team and display outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Consideration should be given to scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.
Pickering and Zetterquist are two of 77 total nominees for the prestigious award, and are two of 11 from the ECAC.
Pickering leads the Skating Saints with 10 points on five goals and five assists so far on the season. The captain has three game-winning goals, and one shootout game-winner in conference play this year.
Zetterquist has logged over 971 minutes this season for the Saints in 17 starts. The senior has 412 saves and a .892 save percentage to go along with a 3.09 goals against average.
