The St. Lawrence University men's hockey team will play 12 non-conference games — including a trip to the Rocky Mountains to face Colorado College (NCHC) — to open the 2021-22 season.
The Saints are scheduled to face RIT (Atlantic Hockey) at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on October 16 and take a trip to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan for a two-game series with Lake Superior State University (CCHA) on October 29-30.
After opening ECAC play with six league games in November, the Saints will host Western Michigan University (NCHC) following the Thanksgiving holiday on November 26-27.
The Scarlet and Brown will also face off against UMass Lowell (Hockey East) for a Wednesday night game on December 29, and the Saints will ring in the New Year with a home non-league set against the University of Nebraska Omaha (NCHC) on December 31 and January 1.
St. Lawrence will travel to UNH (Hockey East) and Merrimack (Hockey East) on January 7-8 for its final non-conference games before returning to league play at Appleton on January 14.
"We are really looking forward to the upcoming season," said Charles W. Appleton II head coach
Brent Brekke. "Our ECAC league games combined with a very competitive non-conference schedule will be a great challenge for our young team. The opportunity to compete against talented programs from numerous conferences is important for the growth or our team. We're excited for the season to get started."
In addition to the non-league schedule and an always important addition to the schedule, the Saints will also face Route 11 rival Clarkson in ECAC play at Cheel Arena on Friday, January 28 and at home in Appleton on Saturday, January 29.
St. Lawrence hopes to be able to allow fans to return to Skating Saints games at Appleton Arena this season, should local and state guidelines allow. More information on attendance at games at Appleton, and if possible, ticket sales for this season, will be announced at a later date.
