Saints Fall to Top-Ranked RIT

The 10th-ranked St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team fell into an early hole at top-ranked RIT on Saturday and were unable to mount a comeback, falling to the Tigers 15-5 in a Liberty League contest in Rochester.

"There is a reason why they are the number one team in the country" said Saints' head coach Mike Mahoney '93 P'22 '24. "They put a ton of pressure on you all over the field and are great at capitalizing on mistakes. We look forward to regrouping and getting ready for the stretch run in the league."

The Tigers led 5-2 at the end of the first quarter and 9-4 at halftime, then put the game away with a 4-0 run in the third quarter.

Peter Koch led St. Lawrence with two goals; Chris Jordan and Stew Hutchinson both added a goal and an assist for the Saints, who fell to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
