St. Lawrence University men's hockey players Emil Zetterquist '22 and Luc Salem '24, who helped the Saints claim the 2021 ECAC Hockey title, earned conference awards for the month of March on Thursday afternoon.

Zetterquist earned MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month honors, while Salem was named the Adirondack Health Rookie of the Month.

Zetterquist, who was named to the Richter Award Watch List and was a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year Award, made 39 saves — including nine in overtime — to lead the Saints to an overtime win over Colgate in the ECAC Hockey semifinals, then stopped 24 of 26 shots in the championship game to lead the No. 3 seeded-Saints to a 3-2 overtime win over top-seeded Quinnipiac in the finals. He led the league with a 2.74 goals against average and a .913 save percentage for the month.

Salem, who was a finalist for the league's Rookie of the Year award and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team, played a huge role in the Saints' come-from-behind win over Quinnipiac in the final, assisting on the goal that tied the game with less than four minutes remaining in regulation, then adding an assist on the overtime game-winner. He also had an assist in the win over Colgate in the semifinals.
