Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Saints Top Lakers, 2-0

Mckenzie Haberl and Marlee Paterson scored to lead the St. Lawrence University field hockey team to a 2-0 win over Oswego State in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon in Oswego, New York.

After a scoreless first quarter, Haberl notched her 10th goal of the season and opened scoring for the Saints, five minutes and 56 seconds into the second frame.

The Laker's nearly evened the score, just over three minutes into the third quarter. Oswego's first shot from Kacie Simzer was stopped by Saints' goalkeeper Lucy Adiutori, but a rebound shot from Alyssa DeMichael was knocked down with a defensive save from Katrina Randall.

Paterson was next on the scoreboard for the Saints, as she found the back of the net with her second of the season, with just about four minutes remaining in regulation.

"We played a very good game today," head coach Fran Grembowicz said. "Our passing and pressure on their defense was excellent. Defensively we were solid, only giving up two corners, both in the first quarter."

Adiutori finished with two saves for the Scarlet and Brown, while Randall had one defensive stop and Erica Scheblein made six saves for Oswego.

The Saints outshot the Lakers 17-5, including an 8-3 shot on goal advantage. The Saints also held a 6-2 edge in penalty corners.
