"We played very poorly tonight and deserved to lose to a good William Smith team," said head coach
Dan Roiger. "They outplayed us. We have grown a lot this year and have been executing well, but tonight we did not. Our defense and passing was poor, and our perimeter shooting was non-existent. We'll try to fix that overnight and get ready for RIT tomorrow."
Olivia Parisi shot 8-for-13 from the field and led the Herons with 18 points, while Dimitrakopoulou finished with 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
St. Lawrence shot 41.1 percent from the floor, to the Herons' 30.9 percent, but William Smith managed to hold the Saints scoreless from the arc.
The Saints remain tied for first in the league standings, but fell to 14-6 on the season and 10-3 in Liberty League play, while the Herons improved to 12-8 and 8-5.
The Saints will face RIT in Rochester tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
