Trent Adamson recorded his third double-double of the season, but the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team fell to Hobart 66-52 in Liberty League action on Friday night in Geneva, New York.
Adamson shot 7-for-10 from the field and finished with a team-best 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Saints, while
Chris Jeffrey finished with 14 points and seven rebounds and
Luke Hicks added nine points and five rebounds.
After a back-and-forth battle and five lead changes the Saints pulled ahead by three on a layup from Adamson with 8:07 to play in the first half. St. Lawrence posted its largest lead of six points when Jeffrey went 2-for-2 from the line at the four-minute mark and managed a 28-26 lead at halftime.
Hobart regained the lead on an early 3-pointer from Tucker Lescoe and the Statesmen extended their lead to double figures on another shot from the arc by Patrick Walker with 8:36 to play.
The Statesmen improved their shooting from 29.4 percent in the first half to 57.6 in the second half and outscored the Saints 40-24 for the win.
Lescoe led Hobart with 15 points, while Jackson Meshanic scored 12 and Edens Fleurizard grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds.
St. Lawrence shot a combined 38.9 percent from the floor and Hobart finished shooting 41.7 percent.
The Statesmen improved to 17-3 overall and 11-2 in conference play, while the Saints fell to 7-12 and 5-8, respectively.
The Saints take on RIT in Rochester, tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
