First-year Trent Adamson scored 16 points and three other Saints tallied double digits to lead the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team to a 65-62 win over Skidmore in conference action on Friday evening in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Adamson shot 5-for-8 from the field and 6-for-8 from the line, and added four rebounds and two blocks. Luke Hicks finished with 15 points and grabbed a team-best nine rebounds, while Chris Jeffrey and Cale Sargent each recorded 11 points.

After five lead changes to kick off the first half, Skidmore took a 6-point lead on a 3-pointer from Riley Greene with 10:44 to play. Adamson shot 2-for-2 from the line putting the Saints ack in control, but the Thoroughbreds tallied a 10-5 run to take a 35-32 lead at halftime.

Both the Saints and the Thoroughbreds pushed through four ties early in the second half. Jeffrey put the Saints up 61-60 with a jumper with 3:27 to play. The Saints maintained a single-digit advantage down the stretch, including a 3-point play from Adamson and free throw from Hicks to close the game.

St. Lawrence outscored Skidmore 33-27 in the second half. 

Greene led the Thoroughbreds with 16 points, while Ty Lamport added 14 and Ryan Murunge finished with 13 and Greg Skoric recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.

The Saints shot 40.4 percent from the floor and 22.7 percent from the arc, while Skidmore combined to shoot 39.7 and 25.0 percent, respectively.

With the win, the Saints snapped a three-game slide and improved to 8-13 overall, while Skidmore fell to 7-15. Both teams moved to 6-9 in Liberty League play.

St. Lawrence will travel to Ithaca to take on the Bombers tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
