Trent Adamson totaled 21 points and classmate
Andrew Geschickter added 20 to power the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team to a 78-74 win over RIT in Liberty League action on Friday night in Burkman Gymnasium.
Adamson shot 9-for-14 from the floor and added five rebounds, two blocks and a steal for the Saints, while Geschickter shot a stellar 4-for-5 from 3-point range and added five rebounds.
Cale Sargent shot 3-for-4 from the arc and finished with 15 points, while
Steve Low, who made his first collegiate start for the Saints finished with four points, two rebounds, two steals and a block.
After battling through 10 lead changes, the Saints pulled ahead 34-29 on a 3-pointer from Sargent with 4:32 to play in the first. St. Lawrence maintained a slight lead over the Tigers and after Sargent shot 2-for-2 from the line, led 39-38 at halftime.
The Saints were able to maintain a single-digit margin over the Tigers and a 9-0 run and back-to-back 3-pointers from Low and Geschickter put the Saints up by nine with 14:33 to play.
Curtis Nesbit landed a shot from the arc to tie the game 67-67 and after one more tie the Saints pulled ahead on free-throws from Adamson and a 3-pointer from Geschickter (74-69), and held onto their slight edge for the win.

Chris Downs. "He stepped up in the absence of
Chris Jeffrey, who is our leading rebounder, and made important moves tonight. It was a team effort and I'm looking forward to seeing what the guys bring to the table against Hobart tomorrow."
Colby Adekanbi led the Tigers, shooting 9-for-12, with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Keegan Ocorr added 15 points and Nesbit finished with 13. Adekanbi also led RIT with three steals, while Nesbit added six assists.
The Saints shot a stellar 50 percent from the floor and 51.9 percent from the arc, and held the Tigers offense to just 42.4 from the floor and 34.6 percent from 3-point range.
With tonight's win, the Saints moved to 5-9 on the season and 3-5 in Liberty League play, while the Tigers fell to 5-10 and 2-6.
St. Lawrence will host Hobart, tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. in Burkman Gymnasium.
