Trent Adamson and
Andrew Geschickter each tallied double-figures to lead the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team, but Ithaca claimed a 67-63 win in Liberty League action after 19 lead changes and seven ties in Burkman Gymnasium on Friday night.
Adamson shot 7-for-15 from the floor and a perfect 5-for-5 from the line for 19 points and recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds, while Geschickter finished with 13 points and
Chris Jeffrey posted a team-best 13 rebounds.
The Saints took an early lead and held the lead through the first 16 minutes of play, shutting down the Bombers 3-point offense, holding them to just 11.11 percent from the floor in the first half. After three quick lead changes, Ithaca took a 29-26 lead at the break after Skylar Sinon shot 3-for-3 from the line on a 3-point foul.
Ithaca and St. Lawrence played neck-and-neck through the second half, with neither team pulling ahead by more than three points. The Bombers managed to edge the Saints by five on a layup from Sebastian Alderete with 6:06 to play and held onto their slight lead for the win.
Alderete led the Bombers with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Riley Thompson finished with 15 points and six rebounds and Jack Stern added 11 points.
Ithaca combined to shoot 36.4 percent from the floor, to the Saints' 36.4 percent.
The Bombers improved to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in conference action, while the Saints fell to 3-9 and 1-5.
The Saints will host Skidmore tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
